The road that I went over in a wagon was a shorter road and kept to the river. 3944 I did not see any boats on the Green River either above or below Greenriver, Utah, while I was there. I was on the San Juan River below Bluff in 1929. I was accompanying Mr. Baker in making studies of the strapigraphy for use in connection with his studies of the oil and gas possibilities 3945 of the region south of the San Juan River in Utah. I touched the San Juan River in the canyon above Mexican Hat and for several 3946 miles above, and again at the mouth of Johns Canyon, at the mouth of Copper Canyon and at the mouth of Trachyte Creek. I was on both sides of the river only at Mexican Hat. During the time I was there on the San Juan I did not see any boats or people other than those in our party. I have been on the upper reaches of the San Juan River around Fruitland. John Bernard Reeside, Jr., testified on cross examination 3947 as follows: I did not see any boats on the San Juan River at Fruitland. Concerning the navigation of the Colorado River between 3948 Moab and the mouth of the Green River, and from my observation of the river, I would say that the difficulties of navigation were about the same in all parts. 3949 The Special Master: Let the statement be made in the record that, when reference is made to the Cisco cache, it is located south of the mouth of the Dolores River.
