Show Record 3878 When I reached the mouth of the San Juan and while I was performing the work between the mouth of the San Juan and a point 25 miles or so below the mouth of the San Juan on the Colorado, some supplies were left for me at the mouth of the San Juan. They come down the river, I understood, and were probably loaded on boats somewhere near Hite. The next supplies were brought to me a few miles below the mouth of Aztec Creek from Lees Ferry, Arizona. I do not recall having received any supplies between the occasion when I got my cache at the mouth of the San Juan and upon reaching the point near Aztec. The supplies that I received near Aztec Creek were brought to me by a man named Myers, and Bert Loper came up on the same boat 3879 bringing me a cook and rodman, in a power boat of the Edison Company. I saw Mr. Wimmer down there. It was between Aztec Creek and West Canyon Creek. I do not recall that he left me any supplies. I think his boats were empty. 3880 Before going to the San Juan, I studied a map of the San Juan. It was probably the map accompanying Gregory's report of the Navajo Reservation. Kelly W. Trimble testified on re- direct examination as follows: If I had had a map such as constructed by me in Exhibit No. 10, it would have very materially assisted me in going down the river, provided it had been of a recent date. 3881 After completing my work on the Colorado, I traveled the river from mile 52 to Lees Ferry by boat, and from there by truck to Flagstaff. From mile 52 down, I used two 16- foot, 3 1/ 2 foot beam, 8 inch rake, open row boat, and one decked over. The ones that I had on the survey on the San Juan. Hugh D. Miser, recalled and testified for complainant 3882 as follows: 559 |
