Show Record We did not do any survey work between Greenriver, Utah, and the mouth of the Green River. That was a continuous trip down. We left Greenriver on the 12th of September, 1921. 3888 We reached the mouth of the Greenriver on the 15th of September. I remember the Green River was swift from Greenriver to the mouth of the San Rafael and full of rapids. I do not recall any difficulty in getting the boats through. I do not recall any difficulty in getting the boats through Labyrinth Canyon. I do not recall any difficulty getting through Stillwater Canyon. I do not recall encountering any sand bars. After we got to the mouth of the Green River we con-tinued our trip down through the cataracts. We commenced our survey 3889 at the mouth of the Green, which was similar to the survey Mr. Trimble was making. Attention is called to Sheet 51 of Exhibit 94 and Sheet 65 of Exhibit 90. 3890 Sheet 13 of Exhibit 10 was prepared by me. The data shown on that map was actually observed by me at the time the survey was made. I have indicated rapids on the map. The elevations of the rapids are not shown on this sheet. Sheets 12, 11, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Exhibit 10 were pre- 3891 pared by me. In the survey I showed all islands that were perceptible. I do not recall showing any rocks. We came into the Colorado River first above Hite about the middle of July or the 1st of August. We first reached the Colorado at the mouth of Fremont River. We came from Greenriver, Utah. We brought our supplies overland from Greenriver to the 3892 mouth of Fremont River. The boat came in later from Greenriver, Utah, to the mouth of North Wash. We did not come down the river from Greenriver, Utah, on account of the flood stage of the river. On our trip from Greenriver down to the cataracts I do not recall seeing any other boats and did not see any settlers below the San Rafael, if I remember. |
