Show Record entitled " Rock Formations in the Colorado Plateau of Southeastern Utah." William Glen Hoyt testified for complainant on direct examination as follow: 136- 137 I have been with the U. S. Geological Survey continuously since graduation from Cornell University in 1909, with the degree of civil engineer. Prior to graduation I had been on lake and river surveys during the summers of 1904- 5- 6- 7. In 1909, 1910, 1911 and 1912 I was assistant engineer with the Geological Survey on stream measurement and stream flow work; from 1912 to 1921 I was district engineer in charge of the Upper Mississippi District on river and stream flow work in the states of Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. Since then I have been consulting engineer with the conservation branch of the Survey on river and general hy- 138 draulic work in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. I have made examina-tions and observations on many rivers, including the Snake and Sal-mon Rivers of Idaho, and more recently on the Green, Colorado and San Juan Rivers. 139- 144 Exhibit No. 75, entitled " Report of Special Survey and Examination of the Green and Colorado Rivers between Green River and Moab" was received in evidence pursuant to a stipulation between attorneys for the parties that it would be considered only in so far as it sets forth or purports to set forth physical con-ditions seen by the witness and it so far as it purports to be a statement of the contents of other government reports and papers, and that any conclusions or comparisons there in expressed shall 146 not be considered or treated as evidence in the case. Exhibit No. 76, being the plates designated in Exhibit No. 75 as Appendix C, and also Exhibit No. 77, being photographs taken by Mr. Hoyt, were received in evidence, as was also Exhibit No. 78, which contains Appendix C, Plates 38 to 46 referred to in Exhibit No. 75. - 21- 1136 |
