Show Record country from Chinle Creek down and south of Moab is sparsely in-habited, incapable of supporting any population. At one time there was some mining prospect in the vicinity of Hite on the Colorado, approximately 160 miles north of Lee's Ferry, but all 23 supplies and material were taken overland from Hanksville. Ever since Utah was admitted into the Union these rivers have been 24 treated as being non- navigable and are in fact non- navigable. " We expect to limit whatever testimony we introduce with reference to this river outside of the State of Utah to matters which have a direct bearing on navigation within the State."
