I have seen the boat called the Moab Garage but have never seen it stuck on a sand bar, although I have heard of its being stuck several 112 times. I never saw that boat running its paddle at night to keep its channel. Arthur A. Baker testified on cross examination as follows: 113 On my second trip, when Virgil Baldwin was in the boat, I did not wear a bathing suit and saw no one else doing so. Virgil Baldwin might just as well have been in a bathing suit; he had his trousers swept overboard. He was operating the boat and there were five people on the boat. Moab was our headquarters during the first two years and we were in and out of there at various times all during the summer. The Moab Garage was operating boats during all of the period that the wells were being drilled, which 114 was most of the time while I was there. They made boat trips every few days, having certain equipment to take down, and as soon as they got back from one trip they would load up and start on another. They ran possibly a couple of trips a week while they 115 were running one boat and ran two boats for a while. As a matter of opinion I would say that they made more than one hundred trips during that period, carrying oil well equipment and supplies. I 116 presume they were paid for it. During my two years at Moab I saw the boats at the wharf many times and saw them land there many 116- 117 times. There was always a boat tied up there and during that period I have no knowledge of their keeping the Moab Garage engines running to prevent a sand bar from filling in and preventing the boats from getting away from the land.
