It is unknown whether Strawberry will continue to be the superb fishery it was in the past. 5) Two major bays of Utah Lake will be diked and drained to reduce evaporation water losses. Diking of Utah Lake will adversely affect an underused recreation resource. With proper management and an awareness by the public, this lake, in close proximity to the majority of Utah's populace, could become anextremely important resource, if not destroyed. WHO ARE THE "CITIZENS FOR A RESPONSIBLE C. U. P. ?" We are a group of individuals and organizations that have banded together in order to bring before the public important issues of this massive water project. Too much has been ignored or glossed over in the past. In the past we have: 1) published a 200 page source book on the CUP for distribution 2) provided speakers on the CUP 3) publicized the conflict 4) contributed to the support of a full time lobbyist on the CUP 5) obtained a national and local re-examination of the water allowed for stream flows in the Uintah Basin In the future we hope to: 1) publish a newsletter 8-10 times per year for our members 2) provide public discussion programs on CUP 3) investigate legal problems in connection with CUP 4) organize a local and national lobbying group on the CUP Won't you join with us?
