I always has wanted him to be a doctor, you know, but after I had the children and you know what it costs, he wanted to be an architect too, he started, but then he started so early and there was so much money involved in it for architecture in tuition alone--it was higher than teaching and so he dropped to teaching . BM: When you moved to Woods Cross, were you in a Mexican community? }~1: No Mexicans at all. I never went to Salt Lake because we didn ' t have a car. I used to go on a train to go, you see, the train used to stop right there about half a block from my home . I would catch the train and go into Salt Lake get in the depot take the bus and go in the stores shopping and come back. But there were no Mexicans there was a couple if there were five families here in Bountiful, but when we moved here there was two in Woods Cross another fellow and us . I don't know if there were any Mexicans in Bountiful, hardly ever, there was maybe two or three families. No Mexicans that's why my girl never had any chance and I never took them to the dances, because, like I said, first Eddie was about my husband never drove and I never drove, I had never driven a car in my life. My husband drives, but he never had a licence, you know what I mean, he drove a truck from the depot to the way up there to where he was working out in the sticks, but he never wanted to have anything to do with the car.
