Show INTERVIEW: Nr. and Nrs. Robles Page 9 MRS: Yes I like the food I like everything that has anything to do with Spanish. A: Row about the religion, are you Catholic? MRS: No. Well, we were brought up as Catholic, you know, then we carne here and they started sending the missionaries to talk to you and we kind of got confused, you know, but I was baptized in the Catholic Church. M: When you came here, you said there were some other Spanish speaking people from old Mexico here. Did you find any differences, cultural differences, between your area, Colorado and New Mexico, and the Spanish speaking people from old Mexico? MRS: Well, see, most of them had lived here for so long, you know, most of them either carne from New Mexico or Colorado, so, it was pretty much like our own. M: You never had any people corning very recently from Mexico up to ... MR: No, most of the people over here, they come maybe 30, 40 years ago. M: When you first arrived here in Drag erton, what job did you have in the mines? MR.: My first job was car dropper ______ and then after we started new people, I had what they called transfer out |
