Show INTERVIEH: Hayer Page 24 had a piano and we used to sing and a roller piano. They gave me piano lessons you know, but I took it for about two or three months and I was very much, I was, I had very good for music. BN: A good ear? MH: Yes, and I liked music, I loved music and up to now I love music, but my sister married and my mother said, no piano, you're going to get married just the same and whose going to buy you a piano. So I forgot all about the music. One of the Nuns was teaching me music. In those years the Mexican peoples parents were very strict with you. I was never allowed to go with my husband alone to a show or anyplace. BM: Who did you take along? MM: He would come to the house and see me, but I wouldn't hold hands and sit in the corner and talk. My mother would talk to him and I would be doing my housework, ironing, or something and that was it. He would steal a kiss when my mother would go to sleep. That was it, I wasn't allowed to go out, my brother's that ' s still alive, every time there was a dance they would come home with me, we would go to the show and he was there with me, but I would never think of holding hands with my husband. I was too, how do you say, in those years you was too shy to do anything and you were brought up like that. Now my girls used to come home and kiss in the front room.
