Show Wallace Chandler Barker Wright Johnson "THE TRAGEDY OF NAN" The play production class under the direction of Marion Redd presented "The Tragedy of Nan," one of the most difficult, intrinsically involved that the class attempted to produce this year. "The Tragedy of Nan" is a backwoods story dealing with the life of the hardy mountaineers. The cast of characters was well adapted to the spirit and theme of the drama. The complete cast included Alva Chandler, Dave Hammond, Irene Ross, Bill Jones, Walter Bates, Ross Ramsey, George Morris, and Harold Christensen. The properties were managed by Ross Ramsey and Alden Goates. "TOMBS" Mabel Ruth Stong's magnetic one-act play, "Tombs," presented by Professor Smith's play production class in the fall quarter, was one of the best of a series of similar presentations. Alva Chandler ably interpreted the mannish Maggie Combs, and Davis Wallace aided her as the irresponsible husband. Ward Johnson played the role of the over-pompous lawyer, Mr. Wallace, while William Barker, an imported juvenile from the Stewart Training School, won the audience as Martbie, the adopted doorstep baby. Davis Wallace and Alden Goates designed the scenery and managed the play. Chandler Hammond Ross Jones Bates Ramsey Morris Christensen |
