Hap Vitale Sprints Frosh Team Major Dansie Hurdles Utah University freshmen athletes rendered a good account of their trip to Provo where they were entered in the annual Brigham Young University Relays. In the events held only for first year men from Utah colleges, the Frosh scampered across with more points than t h e other entrants. Bill McKnight, plucky 880-yard runner, cavorting in a pair of borrowed shoes that were slightly large for h i m, finished the race in ad- Jack Bennett vance ot the held Sprints despite the fact that he lost a shoe late in the race. His time was 2:03 1/5. Allen clocked a good :23 1/5 in the furlong-very good t i m e-and he also grabbed a third in the century. He should be good varsity timber next year. Claude Ivie in the mile grin d, Hartenstein in the 4'iO, Cox in the 220, and Dansie in the high hurdles, all contributed a second place t o the Ute's account, while Peay, Shef- ... f i e 1 d, Eastman, Wayne Hansen Sprints and Allen came 230 |
