Show "King Rene's Daughter"By the Order of the GleamOne of the constitutional pro-visions of the Order of the Gleam is that its members give once each year a dramatic interpretation of some standard author. In accordance with this requirement and following the custom of previous years, the girls presented on the evening of February 24, in the Assembly room, the one-act Danish lyrical drama by Hendrick Hertz, "King Rene's Daughter."The playlet depends for its beauty and force upon its charming lyric quality. The Misses Alice Hurst, Inez Clark, Edith Walker, Leda Wallace, Lucretia Miles, Bess Judd, and Marguerite Mansfield strongly emphasized this lyric charm, and every one proved well fitted to her part. Looking at the evening from any angle, one must proclaim it a thorough success. The Theta Upsilon VaudevilleOne of the rarest evenings of the entire social year was that in which Miss Theta U made her debut amid the footlights. Miss Edna Hull and Miss Laura Poulson put on an act that would make good anywhere in vaudeville. The mysterious "Peter'' turned out delightfully, as did every other act on a strong eight-act bill. The Gamma Phi Candy SaleThe marvelous demonstration given by the Gamma Phi girls of the art of acquiring sweetness, proved to be an unusually successful one.
