In a speedy play off the Freshies, chiefly through Captain Udy's efforts, gained the coveted victory.ScoresSophomores ....................................28Freshmen ..........................................21Freshmen ...........................................26Sophomores ....................................28Juniors ................................................15Freshmen ..........................................12Seniors ................................................ 7Seniors...................................................12Juniors ................................................15Juniors ................................................ 6Seniors ............................................... 8Sophomores .................................... 9The Inter-class Baseball Series of 1911THE great national game found fair'expression in the 1911 inter-class series. Because 'Varsity baseball had not been attempted in the preceding spring on account of the time required for sodding the field, everybody was declared eligible for the series. Many men of 'Varsity caliber participated and raised the class of ball considerably. The Freshman team presented a strong line-up and finally annexed the championship, although meeting defeat in the first battle with the Juniors. In the final game of the series the Freshmen dispelled all doubt as to which was the superior team by walloping out a 27 to 6 victory over the Juniors. The games were, as a rule, much better exhibitions than the scores indicate.ScoresJuniors ................................................ 3Seniors ................................................ 7Seniors ................................................ 4Juniors ................................................11Seniors ................................................14Sophomores .................................... 7Freshmen ......................................27Freshmen ....................................... 2Sophomores ....................................10Freshmen ..........................................10Sophomores .................................... 4Juniors ................................................ 7Freshmen ..........................................15Juniors ................................................ 6200 |
