Show Happy HolmsteadHalfbackBy winning1 a football "U" in addition to his other laurels, Happy deservedly won the distinction of being the best all-round athlete in school, the first man to win four different "U's." For the first season his work upon the gridiron was phenomenal. Next fall Happy should be a wonder.Norm HamiltonHalfbackI had some difficulty in persuading Hamilton to try-out for the team. He didn't think he had a chance, but his pluck, determination, and ability to hang on, soon won him a pliace on the team. His defensive playing was remarkable. The spectacular manner in which he intercepted a forward pass and ran for a touchdown, in the C. C. game will be long remembered by people who saw the struggle.Tommy Fitzpatrick QuarterbackQuick thinking, shifty, aggressive, a sure passer, with a clear cut voice, Tommy made an ideal quarterback. His speed and hard tackling as defensive half could not have been better. With the past year's experience his playing should easily merit him a position on the All Rocky Mountain Team another year.Dez BennionEndDez and Pete were the best pair of defensive ends in the Conference. With bull dog tenacity they wrecked havoc with their opponents' plays. Whole-souled, conscientious, intensely determined, a sure hard tackier, and a consistent interferer, Dez could always be counted on. He never tried to distinguish himself at the expense of his team work, but invariably co-operated for best results.150 |
