Show uro:The 1913 PromTHE high tide of Prom Week bowled us happily from one firm rock of hospitality to another and at last the surf dashed us high upon the shore and we heard a voice calling-"Hotel Utah!" A door banged, and the "chug," "chug" of the automobile sang out "A Utah Man, Sir." Now we were soaring to a higher sphere, far above earth, into a land of dreams. We were wafted into a ball room glowing with light and color, and were floating among the maze of dancers. We drifted about from banks of roses to violet beds, until we found ourselves in an Eden of crimson and white carnations, looking out, as mighty Jupiter did, upon the gods and goddesses circling in the dance, while we sipped ambrosial nectar. We saw on the terrace of bliss the old familiar faces of fraternities and clubs, but ere we had greeted them all, we were awakened to hear the whirr of the car and the clock chiming "Prom ! Glorious Prom !"Program for Prom WeekAn Innovation in the U. of U. by the Class of 1913During Prom Week the following organizations informally entertained students and friends of the University:Monday"Counting the survivors of the brain storm"Delta Epsilon, Theta Upsilon and Gam-mi Phi received informally at 232 University Avenue from 3 to 6.Tuesday"From the dressmakers"Order of the Gleam and Scribblers entertained in Library Building-Informal Musical from 3 to 5.Wednesday"Cabs all gone?"A Romp with the Musical Society; University Orchestra of 20 pieces.Thursday"What dance may I have?"Fraternities held Open House-Xi Kappa Phi, 302 South Twelfth East; Alpha Pi, 232 University Avenue; Amici Fidissimi, S and Second Avenue; Sigma Chi, 1224 East South Temple.Friday"Juniors were it"The Prom, Hotel Utah, 9 p. m. to 2 a. m.192 |
