Royalty of Utah's social groups join the Gallery of Queens In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of lots of things, like spring formals, and beautiful girls, and the end of school. Utah suffered no lack of the virtues of the second (which primarily came about because of the first). Included in our gallery this year is a long list which begins with LaVonne Garff, chosen the Dream Girl of Pi K A; lovely Annette Johnson was Kappa Sig's Queen; the title of the White Rose of Sigma Nu was held by Jasmine Freed; while the Sig Ep's Queen of Hearts was the charming Carol Jean Douglas. Dorothy Pohlman captured the title of the I.K.'s Spur of the Moment, and Gayle Crandall was crowned the queen of Sigma Pi. Pert Doralee Durham was the Sigma Chi's choice for their Sweetheart; De-Anna James became Beta Theta Pi's Beta Bag, and Karen Cheney defied the very title given her by the Phi Delts, as she reigned as their gracious Plain Jane. Dark-haired Cathy McKay was chosen as the favorite of the Delta Phi's. Also here are the SAE's Violet Queen, Lambda Chi Alpha's Crescent Queen, queens of the military and the engineers, and the queen of Lambda Delta Sigma. 270 |
