Show In 1946 Dr. Henry Eyring came to the University to assume the position of Dean of the Graduate School. Since his 1927 graduation from the University of California he has worked on many important research projects in such fields as radioactivity, molecular biology, and the theory of reaction rates, producing 250 scientific papers and three books. He is now supervising several scientific projects being conducted in the Graduate School by post-graduate re-seachers and graduate students. During the 11 years since he took command Dr. Eyring has built a graduate school which has brought knowledge, respect, and prestige to the University of Utah. Barry Quinn Grant Mishbach Khosrow Mostofi For those aspiring to more than the primary Bachelor's Degree in their field is the University of Utah's Graduate School. Here the student continues the research in his particular field with either a Master's or Doctor of Philosophy Degree in view. Advanced study, seminars, more research, thesis writing, and the maintenance of a "B" average combine to make this end possible. Under the careful supervision of the Dean and Graduate Council, these people made new and vital contributions to their fields. 63 |
