Show Senior Day In spite of snow and sleet the annual Senior Day was a big success. Five thousand high school seniors turned out en masse to get their first introduction to college life. Held this year in conjunction with Homecoming and Band Day, Senior Day seemed on the brink of disaster when the Homecoming parade was cancelled because of snow. However, this merely gave incentive for better things as Mr. Woodruff put the Union's facilities completely at the disposal of the students. Free movies, use of the game rooms, and a delicious Bar-B- Cue lunch were the orders of the day. A mixer dance was held in the Union Ballroom in the morning along with a talent assembly at Kingsbury Hall. In the afternoon free tickets to the football game were distributed to those who were willing to brave the elements. Chairman Eileen Demars, Shirley Germain, Nanette Moore, Lucile Darley, and other committee members met this emergency like troupers and came out on top with a most successful day. 17 |
