Show Again from a Broadway and Hollywood success came the stars Judith and Jeffrey Lynn to star in the University theatre's production "Janus," which opened in Kingsbury Hall on December 3. Ralph Margetts was director again for this production. Opening with Margaret Sullivan, "Janus" by Carolyn Green was first a success during the 1955-56 season. The play, which was the Theatre's surprise hit, replaced the originally scheduled "Inherit the Wind," which was moved to March. The sophisticated, light-hearted comedy is about a most unconventional romantic situation with highly amusing internal revenue department complications. Judith Evelyn, being no stranger to local audiences, starred in the role of Jessica. She will be remembered for her performances here in recent years in "Private Lives," "Joan of Lorraine," and "A Streetcar Named Desire." Jeffrey Lynn co-starred in the role of Denny, the An-dover professor and Jessica's summertime collaborator. Though not as familiar to the Salt Lake audiences, Lynn acted with the polish acquired from playing the same role on the eastern stage, not to mention many other starring roles. 179 |
