LlewellynForsbergThe expansion of intramural basketball to include two major tourneys with some three hundred players arrayed under the colors of the various fraternities and unaffiliated campus groups was easily the calendar's crowning achievement in four-walled activities.Series number one, conducted late in the fall quarter, brought together twenty-six teams, with rosters aggregating 196 men. Winners of the four divisions met at the conclusion of the playing schedule in a playoff series which terminated with the Pilmid crew out in front, trailed by Pi Kappa Alpha, Cowhands, and Sigma Chi, in the order named.¦'^SL^J iKappa Si^ma Free Throw Team Gubler Cope Stringham PorterThe sheer power of the Pilmids was again evinced in their winning of the winter tourney. . -Director Robbins, and Manager Sum-merhays selected an all-star five, which, though in personnel seemed rather limited as to teams placing men, was, nevertheless, the flower of intra-collegiate cagedom. Bob Bird and Mac Corbett of Pi Kappa Alpha, Reese Llewellyn and Juddy Bischoff of the Pilmids, and Ralph Knight, R. 0. T. C, were named to the first team. In all, some thirty men were given honor ratings.FREE THROWINGIn the free throwing competition, four men to a team, each pitching twenty-five shots, Kappa Sigma breezed in number one over a fast field of foul pitching adepts. Delta Phi came second, while R. 0. T. C. grabbed third and Pi Kappa Alpha fourth place. Sinking 21 out of a possible 25, Ralph Knight, Cadets, nosed out Bob Bird of Pi K.
