Show she pulled herself upright, eyelids at half mast, and looked around the room. Seeing nothing but books and clothes scattered on the floor, she peered under the bed. When she didn't see it there, a panicky feeling came over her. Frantic, she bounded out of bed and began searching the room in earnest, tossing aside papers and clothes that might be covering her radio. "Mimi!" she said, pounding on the top bunk. "Where is my stereo?" "Huh?" "My stereo!" Kim shouted. "Where is it?" Mimi groaned. "I don't know." She pulled the wool blanket up over her head. "It was here last night and now it's gone!" "It's Saturday. We can sleep in today," Mimi said. Too sleepy to catch the full significance of the situation, Mimi turned over toward the wall. "Mimi, my stereo's missing!" "That's too bad. Have you checked under the bed?" "Yes, I've checked under the bed. I've checked everywhere," said Kim, practically out of her mind.
