FRENCH SAILOR RESCUED BOULOGNE-SUR-MER, France. Well known French adventurer, Matias Piccard, was found alive yesterday after drifting alone for 23 days in a small raft in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Although weak and dehydrated, Mr. Piccard was reportedly in good spirits. His attempt to sail alone across the Atlantic was cut short when his sailboat, Esprit, was swamped in a storm. "I rationed my water and food," said Mr. Piccard. "I realized I was in trouble when I discovered the storm had pushed me into the Sargasso Sea. I knew the area was avoided by most ships.
