Show Fair Forever Chapter Two Amanda I met Amanda last spring, and at once discovered what it was like to really live. Oh, I'd breathed air in and out and listened to my heart struggle to push blood. But I hadn't lived. When I met Amanda, everything changed.. That's the way she was. You couldn't meet her and be the same afterwards. But my life was still a question mark that day we met. I had gone to see Dr. Dill again at the hospital in Wadesboro. He ran all the tests and listened to my heart, frowning the whole time. At the end of the tests he took in a deep breath. "We knew this time would come," he said, looking grave through his glasses. Then he gave my shoulder a squeeze and let out a resigned sigh. "We'll put your name on the list," he said. "It's time." |
