She asked if she had remembered to telephone home-let her mom know she had arrived. Amanda shook her head and said, 'I guess I forgot.' Then she came in the room and told me she 'd been thinking about my little skiff. She asked if she could practice rowing. She sat on my bed, saying, When you 're better, Bradley, you can come with me in the skiff In fact, you can do the rowing. I don't think I'll be very good at rowing.' Mom looked worried. Have you been in a skiff before?' she asked. Amanda answered, 'Sort off Momwasn't happywith that answer. She said, 'You shouldn't go far then-' "Is that when you taught her to row?" asks the man.
