Opportunity 2 is: Case managers would like to be aware of any progress made with the family's acclimation process. The interaction is that case managers have the opportunity to take advantage of the one-on-one connection that mentors have with their families in receiving mentor feedback on the family's progress throughout the month. IRC has the desire to utilize mentor feedback in relation to refugee progress but, the current communication infrastructure via the activity log does not convey to mentors that case managers are interested in receiving feedback, specifically dealing with progress. Family mentors as a result are not offering the feedback to the case managers, assigned. According to the criteria, desire is the only positive criterion that exists so a +1 is assigned. Multiple barriers exist that keep this interaction from occurring as well. The Family Mentor Training materials do not convey to family mentors the specific need for them to communicate feedback pertaining to progress that they see with their refugee families. Time is also a major barrier for both case managers and family mentors who are not motivated to discuss the current progress of their refugee families with one another. Because two or more barriers exist, a -2 is assigned. This interaction therefore, results in a weight of -1 (1 + (-2) = -1 ). 4.6.7 Throughout the weighting process, the evaluator created a record of rationale that allowed for verification of her assumptions through consistent review. After both SWOTis were weighted, the evaluator identified the outstanding interactions according to the matrices, in relation to the designated goals and objectives of the overall evaluation. The current practice of each objective was articulated with the aid of the rationale record and recommendations were developed in response to the patterns that emerged from the data and analysis relating to the given objective. Impact Analysis Matrix 4.6.8 This matrix is a tool to prioritize and sequence a set ofrecommendations according to a ratio of effort verses impact. 13 of 13 |
