Show Goals and Objectives Goal 1: Volunteers will understand their role as a family mentor. Objective 1: IRC will provide a clear definition of what IRC defines as a family mentor and assess to what extent their volunteers understand that role. Objective 2: IRC will communicate to volunteers what the initial months of mentoring will entail as mentors. Goal 2: Volunteers will feel confident in their ability to support their families through utilizing the resources offered to them by IRC staff, this includes: Family Mentor Training, on - going assistance for training needs, and distributed materials. Objective 1: IRC will help volunteers understand the refugee process prior to being placed with a family. Objective 2: IRC will match volunteers with a family that they feel comfortable with based on volunteers expressed desires and what incoming families are available. Objective 3: IRC will ensure that volunteers will be provided with sufficient training. Goal 3: IRC Staff and Family Mentors will establish a working relationship that includes regular contact. Objective 1: Establish the ways in which family mentors are accountable to IRC Staff, measured by regular points of contact, specifically: volunteer hours, feedback on refugee families, and feedback on the Family Mentor Program. Objective 2: Establish the ways in which IRC staff is accountable to family mentors. 7 of7 |
