Show 2.0 Goals and Objectives Characterization of Needs 2.1 The following goals and objectives that have been evaluated in the Family Mentor Program were derived from the Mission Statement of the International Rescue Committee and from multiple conversations between Dianne Browning, Development Coordinator of IRC, Patrick Poulin, Director of IRC - SLC, and Meghan Brumby, Resource Developer. After the initial creation of the goals and objectives, Dianne Browning accepted another position elsewhere Meghan Brumby was her replacement. While there are several other goals and objectives that would be beneficial to evaluate in this program, we have settled on the following for this first level evaluation in hopes that future success in the program will allow for opportunities to further evaluate key components of the program that will facilitate further progress. Mission Statement of /RC: 2.2 "Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading, nonsectarian non - profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services, and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. Domestically, our 23 offices across the country ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing, and work with refugees to help then gain self - sufficiency through English language classes, job training and placement services, and community participation activities. Opened in 1994, the Salt Lake City office has resettled over 5,500 refugees." 6 of6 |
