A Service-Learning Scholars' Program project. "This paper is an integrative service project summary on the design and creation of a first level evaluation of the Family Mentoring Program of the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City, Utah. The evaluation focuses on the volunteer and IRC Staff perspective of the Family Mentoring Program experience according to three designated goals and seven objectives as established through initial meeting with Patrick Poulin, Director of International Resource Committee of Salt Lake City, Dianne Browning, Development Coordinator, who was later replaced by Meghan Brumby, Resource Developer. the inquiry resulted in data gathered on the feedback of stakeholders regarding the documentation provided through: two volunteer focus groups, two on-on-one interviews, one IRC staff focus group, twelve volunteer surveys, program goals and distributed materials. Multiple points of reference across data types helped to illustrate patterns in the data. The emergent patterns from the data helped to answer the evaluation questions. An evaluation report was generated and copies distributed onJuly 21, 2007 to the International Rescue Committee of Salt Lake City, Utah." |
