Show 203 Zecontei, and Crotalus confluentus lutosus. One group appears to have reached Utah from the west through the deserts of Nevada. This group includes Sceloporus o. bi- serzatus3 Phrynosoma platyrhinos, Eumeoes skiltonienus and Thamnophis o. vagrans- One form, Coluber a. mormon seems to be most closely connected with the northwest. At least two forms appear to have differentiated in Utah and spread beyond. These are Uta stansburians stansburians of the Salt Lake Basin, and Charvna bottae utahensis of the northern Utah mountains. A third form, Crotalus o. conoolor, seems to have differentiated along the Colorado River Basin in eastern Utah, western Colorado and southern Wyoming. Eight amphibians, two turtles, nine lizards and eight snakes have been identified from the study area. The following list is taken from a list published by the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists and prepared by Karl P. Schmidt ( 1953). The accompanying maps, Figures 32- 37, show the locations where specimens of the species have been collected in the study area. The numbers in the list correspond to the numbers on the figures.
