Level Three - High Intensity Use Group This grouping of uses includes all which involve a high degree of site modification during construction. They require sophisticated public services such as sewage treatment, solid waste disposal, utilities and year- around access. Transportation is of great importance and several reliable modes should be provided, giving particular attention to public, mass- movement systems. In addition to the major uses, several subordinate activities would be developed, creating a diversity and consistency in usage. A high intensity use zone might include hotels, motels and convention centers supported by restaurants, beach/ marina complexes, swimming areas, as well as many smaller active and passive recreational activities. Summary of Development Objectives Modification: Dredging of areas to add more diversity to the uses. Degree of Impact: User: Determined by zone. Maintenance: Determined by zone. Access: Intensive mass transit. Orientation to User: Strict zoning of use ( resort lake, full array of recreational opportunities). Water Level: Determined by individual areas of use. |
