Show 20 nuclei consist of rod- like brine shrimp fecal pellets, fragments of quartz, orthoclase, calcite, ilmenite, magnetite, pyrite, leucoxene, or garnet. Chemically, the oolites are composed of calcium and magnesium carbonates ( 83.3 percent), occluded clay in carbonates ( 5.6 percent), mineral fragments as nuclei ( 7.0 percent) and organic matter ( 0.54 percent) ( Eardley, 1966). Spectrographic lysis of the mirabilite crystals showed traces of the following elements: Al, Fe, Ca, Cu, Mg, Ag, V, Sr, and Si. Spectographic analysis of the solids of the pore water shows traces of the following elements: Al, Fe, Ca, Cu, Mg, Ni, Ag, V, Sr, Si, and K. |
