Show 7 to increase and that of the South Arm to decrease, due to the unequal inflow of fresh tributary water to the two arms. The effects of the causeway, since its completion in 1959, have been the source of many economic questions. The causeway starts due west of Ogden's Utah Army Depot, crosses the southern tip of Promontory Point and goes to Lakeside on the west shore. The Antelope Island Roadway, with less far- reaching effects, impounds the inflow from the Jordan River, causing the waters in Farmington Bay to approach the salinity of the Jordan River inflow except for the salt intrusions near the openings in the roadway. |
