Commissioner McClure of Salt Lake County has indicated that they would probably be willing to relinquish their lease if the State would buy the purchased property. John Silver has a second lease, No. 261, which was issued in 1971. It has been his intention to build an amusement park on this property which would emphasize the salt aspects of the Lake. He is presently having some difficulty initiating this project. There is a performance clause in his lease which would provide for cancellation if the project is not begun in the near future. The final recreation lease on the south shore is Sand Pebble Beach. This 49- year lease was issued in 1969 and contains a performance clause. The lessee is presently in violation of his agreement and action is underway for cancellation of the lease. |
