THE SPECIAL MASTER: The witness did not testify as to the stream flow of 1907. MR. BLACKMAR: He said it was lower, as I understood him. THE WITNESS: No, I think you are mistaken. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you act as pilot of this boat, or did Mr. Oppenheimer? A I think Mr. Oppenheimer steered the boat, and I was up in front; he ran the engine and steered it; I was up in front; when there was any occasion to give him directions, I gave them to him. Q Did you give his any directions? A I undoubtedly did; I don't remember distinctly, though, of any specific case of giving him directions. Q What would be the occasion for you giving him directions? A Sometimes you might have tendency to run on a sand-bar that had been built out from the bank. I would simply |
