FARNSWORTH: Q I don't want to ask you to give us any state secrets, anything of that sort, Mr. Woods, but does assessed valuation represent in fact -- not speaking of theory -- does assessed valuation in San Juan county represent the actual market value of the land there, or is it a percentage of the market value? A Well, we never figured on getting more than thirty-five per cent. Q Usually the assessed value is about sixty per cent of the market value, isn't it, in that section? A Yes sir. Q Now, you spoke of this land up around Monticello being covered with sagebrush and blue grass, I believe? A Yes sir. Q How high does the sagebrush grow there? BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q did you say blur grass? A yes. Q Old Kentucky blue grass? A It is a sort of a blue grass peculiar to that country; it grows up so they can out it for hay. Q Isn't it what they call blue stem some places? A Blue stem, yes. |
