Show 6696 Sterling- D 4686 Sandbars on the up journey? A On the up journey, no, for the very same reason I just described, or have given, that if you used judgment and followed the main channel of the river, there was no occasionally to get on any bars. Q And your trip was not delayed from any conditions which you found on the river? A No. Q Either bars or rapid water? A No. Q Did you again make that trip? A I made that trip before, but simply went down and back, without spending so much time in making so much of an investigation. Q Did you make another trip with a smaller boat? A The same gasoline driven power boat. Q That is the one that the engine broke on? A Yes, on the second trip it broke. Q The first trip you made with the smaller boat, how long did it take you to go from Greenriver to the head of the cataracts? A I think it took us what we called two days and a half; we would stop every night and camp on the shore and just as long as convenient; I think about two days and a half it took took to make the trip. |
