Show 6640 Howland- 4630 you were talking, or whether it was latter written out, brought to you at a later time, after you had finished talking, for your signature? THE SPECIAL MASTER: I supposed Mr. Ryan can tell you, himself; he is right here in the court room. He can tell better whether he did it or not than the witness can. MR. FARNSWORTH: You did it in that way, didn't you? MR. RYAN: Yes. MR. FARNSWORTH: You talked to him about it, and wrote out the statement, and brought it to him for his signa-ture? MR. RYAN: I had a typewriter with me, and Mr. Tom Mitchell was with me; we wrote it out there, had Mr. Howland read it. MR. FARNSWORTH: After you had talked to him you wrote out the statement and handed it to him for signature? MR. RYAN: Yes sir, and he read it. MR. BLACKMAR: He read it over and signed it, and you gave him a copy of it, too. THE SPECIAL MASTER: If there is any challenge to be made of this document, why not ask th witness if there is anything that appears which he wishes to change in the state-ment? That is the simplest way of getting at it. |
