It is bulbous, and varies in size from that of a pea to that of a filbert. " Our pliant agrees exactly with the description of Nuttal), who was probably mistaken as to the colour of the flower. The inner sepal* seem to be white, except at the claw, which is yellow. I hava not been able to institute a comparison between this plant and Douglass's ( 7.
