Founded in 1846, by the Presidency of Latter- day Saints. GOLDEN PASS KAN TON- Camp No. 1. Base of mountain on Ghii- kQ- ktt- ehett or Big K any on Creek. The road passes through a part of the " Big Field," six miles square, south of the city: laid off in five- acre lots, with lanes and streets between them. FORKS or KANTON CRifi- Cimp No+ 2. Enter Kanyon, and pass the toll- house. The read ia cut, in many places, around points of perpendicular rocks, and some of the eurves are so abrupt that the forward cattle must be detached. Cross the stream several times- great care required. The road is being improved by labor. The scenery is grand. FORD or THI SOUTH FORK or KANTOH CREEK- Road lies on the table land, near the creek, with plenty of grass, fuel, and water. Creek 6 feet wide. SUMMIT or WAHSATOH RAHGE.- Ascent has been gentle, and across several small tributaries of the South Fork of Kanyon Creek. TRIBUTARY BRANCH TO BAUOHMTR'B CREEK- Having crossed a rivulet previous- descent gentle and grassy. BRAECH- As above, at west side of Parley's Park.
