IX., J*. 11. - Hirsute, dark green, elytra reddish castaneous, feet black. Head, pronotum* scutel, and pygidium; green* and densely and eonfluently punotured.. Elytra each with four indistinct impressed strise; surface irregular punctured, punctures confluent toward the sutures. Under parts, including the femora, green, and densely punctate; tibisfc and tarsi, black. Length, eight lines. The body, above and below, with the elytra and feet, are irregularly hirsute, with whitish hairs, v Valley of the Great Bait Lake. EUPHORIA CERKII, Hald. PL. IX. Fio. 10. Dark brown elytra, varied with pale flavojuf. Head and pro-notum densely and coarsely punctured; antenna, palpi, and feet reddish- browns Pronotum margined laterally and posteriorly with a narrow band of flavous; scutel blacky with elongated shallow punctures, mostly toward the margin. Elytra each with a wide sutural and medial groove, irregularly maculated with dark brown and flavous in nearly equaj proportions, the lateral and terminal with three sub- sutural spots; surface slightly punctate with longitudinal strise near the suture, and fine transverse rugosities laterally. Pygiditfm faintly rugulose, pectus . blackish. Length, five lines. Collected by Mr. Kern, after whom it is named. |
