PONDS-^ wo small ponds; miserable water. Meridian observations for latitude. LABAMII MAIN FORK- Right bank at Poplar Fork. Exoellent prfrsa and good ford at this ptaoe. Sioux and Cheyenne hnuting- grounds. A road to Fort Laramie, along this river, used by the traders. SPRING BRANCH- Fine level road; prood water and fuel. Here the road should keep more southerly, crossing the Black Hills over a lower ridge, nnd crossing Crow Creek, deflect northerly, to Loilgc Pole Oeek; thence down its valley to its junction with the South Fort of the Platte. TETON - Opposite a lone peak called ** The Teton," on the Black Hills slope. The rise is quite gradual. SPRING, and small branch, in ravine SUMMIT- Between Larami* River and Crow Branch...
