SPUING CAMP- Good cool water, and fine grass for the cattle. NOON HALT- Near this point the road hag since been abandoned for the ridge between the Missouri and Kansas Rivers; the directions are therefore made succinct until reaching the Big Blue. SMALL CRBBK- Road difficult on account of deep gullies. INDIAN CRBJCK- Cross three small creeks in the first 12 miles. 1 INDBPBNDBNCB ROAD- Crossing of the S t Joseph's and Independence Road. KANSAS BRANCH- Travelling over the ridge; rising ground 6 miles, then descending, to branch creek. CRBKK CBIBK CAMP- Here we defiled to the left, leaving the road almost half a mile, for fuel and water. THE GBOVBS- Fuel and water; small creek, running north. NUMAHA- Tributary of the Missouri.. NBBMAHA BRANCH- Road has wound along the ridge between two branches 1 of this creek.
