So , it took me quite a bit. And when I was overseas in Saipan, this Catholic Chaplain carne-- he carne to the outfit. And he called all the Catholics and they prayed, you know. And then this Protestant minister come and he got all his Protestants to pray. I went up to the captain and I said, This is a little ridiculous. These guy shave all got their chaplains. How about getting me a rabbi? He said- Sid, there ain't a rabbi around here. Sohe asked. Well, they could get a rabbi that's on a battleship. But he's out to the high seas some place. And I guess - more Jews joind the Navy than they did the Army. But, he talked to this Catholic bishop. And he said, hey, vve 're prepared for this. He carne up to me and he said, "You want sorn- Jewish services." I said, "Yes."So he got these puton a yarrnulkah, put on a shawl. Got thisbook in Hebrew. And -- prayer book -- and sat there. Read it in Hebrew. And like this. I was sitting there and you know, he says, "Any other prayers you want?" So -- He knew. I asked him, how can you do this? You're not Jewish. He said, "Hey, a Jewish chaplain somewhere is doing this for Catholic people on a ship or someplace. You learn each other's relition so we can " you know, last rites, whatever. LK Your point before, what youwere trying to say, as I can understand it, was the fact that since you grew up with so many different kindsof people and you feel a partof many many different -- SM Many different.
