Show OHI Sid Matz 11-25-85 s3:29 slammed the door and I went, oh, god, and I looked - and the tip of my finger was gone. And he said, "What's the matter." I said, "You just cut off my finger ." And he said , "Oh, lier?" And I went up like this and -- he almost fainted, you know. And my wife ran over and she picked up the tip of her finger. And she put it between her - she heard thatif you keep it warm they could put it back on . LK [She put it between her breast[ Yeah] SM Sothey put me in the car and they drove me off to this hospital. This Dr. Hill and I went in there and he looked at it. And she handed him my finger. And he looked at it, and he said, no, the bone's allcrushed. Infact, he had to cut a little more off. So [laughs] So anyway, he put - he froze it and that and put the - on there and gave me this prescription of somepain pills. And I said, youknow , doctor, I wouldn 't need these pain pills because that thing has never hurt once . Since it happened. I never felt it hurt. And he said, "Sid , the reason it don't hurt, when you lose a limb like that, you know - your body goes into shock. The shock has taken over your body. You don't feel any pain but you will ."So anyway, I got pain pill. And went rome and told my wife, "Go ahead, go to Denver. You're planning o n it and yourrrother expects you. " She didn't want to go. I finally told her, Look it would be a hell of a lot easier on me if you 'd leave. Take the kids and just get out of here becuasei don't know what kind of condition I'm going to be in. so they left. And about two oclock in the morning, God, I woke up |
