Randol, Field Artillery PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE AND TACTICS BATTERY "A" Field Artillery R.O.T.C., has now been in existence at this institution approximately two years and those of us who are identified with the instruction feel that we are making forward and favorable progress. This progress has been, in a great part, furthered by the enthusiasm of the students enrolled, the student body and the authorities of the University, our President taking a deep personal interest in our department. We expect to continue our forward progress and this will be made easier as a result of the new stables and gun shed which have been recently completed upon the campus and which, to my mind, are the finest buildings erected by any institution west of Chicago that operates and maintains a Field Artillery R.O.T.C. One of the most interesting features of our training lies in the summer camps which are held at Camp Knox, Kentucky, where our students put into practice the theoretical knowledge gained during the academic year and where they are able to obtain a broader vision of life due to the fact that they live and mix with students of many other universities and colleges. In conjunction with technical training, the experience gained through the successful completion of the course in Military Science and Tactics is of inestimable value to both the student and the government. Any one elective subject must, to exist, be of interest to the students from all the Page 104 |
