As many of the hands a:· could find roorn to work we1·e engaged at the boat ; and fo Ul' w nt down the river to hunt buffaloe, in ol'Cler to get 1 hdr skins to co\'er our craft. This was a beautiful #!lld plea~ant day. Sunday 7th. The morning 'vas fine. The hunter• hJcl rema.ined out all night. In the e\;ening some fl!w drops of rain fell ; and tho hunte rs came in ; but had not had good luck, the bnffaloe bdng most· I~r out in the plains.
