Show 178 A few days later the Marines made another advance and most the personel got moved xxxx forward except for troop assistance xxxxxxx personel like Red. A new bunch of troops were to follow and move the camp forward the next day, but they didn't get in that night, they got delayed in some behind the line skirmishes that nobody thought anything about, Japs were always holing up in x caves like snakes and coming out behind the lines and then you just had to wipe them out and get on with things. They figured there'd still be Japs on that island fighting after the U.S. had made it a state. Of course all that reasoning was completely wrong and that night was the night the Japs chose to hit the camp in force. Red got woke up by a dream of wind and bees. The bees started to fart, that's what did it, loud stinking farts that smelled like burning canvas. Red left his tent with only i his helmet and gun, xxxii just like xkxx in boot camp when the sergeant woke him up and made him dance in the moonlight in his underwear. Already the Marines were abandoning everything else in the camp to form a defense line around the supply area, which wasn't so good because that was starting with the last resort. There was x a lot of noise, but mostly noise, Red still hadn't seen a Jap, just some tents in flames, the ground going up here and there like blown out tires, lots of Marines heading for the defense line in their underwear. It wasn't so scarey as it could have been because nobody could really see the thousands of Japanese surounding the camp, and the Zeros hadn't hit yet, and the Marines didn't know that the air cover they were calling for wasn't going to be there. They didn't know this was going to turn into the famous Mxaxxxxaxgxi xxKKXK Midway Underwear Massacre because of all the Marines that were going to be left dead without their boots on, in fact without anything on but their underwear. In fact if anybody in charge would have done one smart thing then maybe the Marines xxi would have made an organized retreat, lost the camp and saved a lot of lives. In fact that's what Red suggested when he ran into his commanding officer, Captain Wilforce, who had previously explained to Red the importance of the reserve" units and asked him to build a foot locker. Captajm WilffgiPQn wa^ ^the highest ranking officer left in the camp. |
