Show 189 Jane started to exit with Thomas and the children, but then remembered she had something to say to Hyrum. Everyone stopped and listened.* "Hyrum, I had a dream about thee last night." "About me?" Hyrum was startled and curious. "I know-we were being attacked by Indians and Hyrum was fighting them all off!" said Samuel. "Well, we were all in America, but thou wert not fighting indians-thou wert getting married!" Jane looked at Hyrum to see if he was interested enough for her to go on. She had Elise's full attention. "Matrimony?" mused Hyrum, sneaking a look at Elise. "I'd rather be fighting indians!" said Samuel. "I can't be sure. It was just a dream thou know'st, but it seem to me thou wert marrying a rather fierce old colonist woman." "Oh!" Elise let out a stifled gasp and ran from the room. "Angels of mercy! It was a nightmare!" wheezed Hyrum, victim of a sudden respiratory attack. "Indians come later," Samuel whispered to Hyrum. "Just remember, Jane, it was a dream, not a vision!" Hyrum was struggling to get his wheezing under control. The family started off to pack, with the exception of Barbara who lagged behind until the others were gone.
