Show 26 was standing before her waiting to be acknowledged. "Yes, Benjamen." Hannah smiled at him warmly. He was her youngest and she had been perhaps somewhat indulgent by permitting him more frivolity in his life than should have been allowed in a Puritan household. Benjamen had such a happy disposition, she encouraged his laughter to her own delight and to the questioning conscience of her husband. She lifted Benny into her arms, giving him her full attention. "Well, my good young feller...." "Does t'Clink really smell so awful?" his wide eyes awaited her answer. "Samuel told us a story, 'Sir Walter Raleigh . '" volunteered Joseph who was looking to receive some recognition from his mother. Joseph wasn't sure who he was. He knew he came after Samuel, but then it seemed as though everyone came after Samuel because Samuel got so much attention. And he knew he came before Benjamen, but Benjamen seemed to get quite as much attention as Samuel, though in a different, way. Joseph wasn't sure where he fit. And sometimes he wondered if he fit at all. He knew he was loved. And he knew he pleased his father and mother because he had overheard them talking one time about how obedient he was.
